3 weeks agoI had a great experience here. Casey was a very attentive and sweet server. She gave great recommendations and worked very hard. The food was delicious and came out quick! I will be coming here again!

a month agoIts a cute place, but the food is mediocre at best. I have never been somewhere with a salad bar where I had to peel my own boiled eggs for the salad (yes shelled boiled eggs on the salad bar, or had whole mushrooms where I had to cut the up completely. The mashed potatoes looked and tasted like instant potatoes, the chicken fried steak is on the smaller side but was decent ( not the best, but not the worst I've had). Fried fish was bland. The fried okra was the best thing I had. Our server was nice, but obviously not very experienced or knowledgeable about what the place has (not sure if they had fish cause Friday they didn't, it's Sunday now, and had to ask someone else if they have tartar sauce for the fish.) never got our check, went to the counter to find out how much we owed

Edited 2 months agoOK, this is really more of a 4*++ than a 5*, but let me justify it if I can. On road trips, I like to try to grab a cup of coffee in the early morning and skip breakfast outright. Which means I'm looking for either a lunch or dinner buffet later on. This trip to Austin, WAZE routed me through Centerville. I asked Google for a buffet near me, and was delighted that Town Cafe popped up (I was expecting no buffet, or else pizza or Chinese). Pics included with this review, but put simply it is a salad bar and steam table set lunch with an AYCE option for a few dollars extra. So not a 'normal' buffet. That being said? Fresh ingredients on the salad bar, and my meatloaf was savory, mashed potatoes fluffy, and the dessert (cobbler? Crumble?) was tasty, as well. (there was also fried okra, but I can't comment, as I don't like okra at all).There was a wonderful looking case of baked goods, and you can get pie and cake by the slice, with cupcakes, cookies, etc. on display as well. Tables were kept clean, server was moving and cleaning, bathroom was clean. My AYCE lunch, plus tea and tip, came out a smidgen over $20. That's high for me for lunch (I couldn't/wouldn't do that 5 days/week in this economy), BUT it was a great lunch and I'd gladly do it again on another visit. PS - if anyone local sees this, and knows who the attractive brunette police officer is, please do message and let me know!

5 months agoWanna feel that down home hospitality? Hop off of interstate 45 on Highway seven going to the heart of town check out the Town Cafe. You will not regret it. Bon appétit.

5 months agoGreat food! I had the ultimate burrito and it was amazing, it had all the goodies in it. Just passing through but highly recommend a stop in.

5 months agoStopped for lunch. Liked the atmosphere. Couple tables open but not cleared off yet, but found a table in the back room. Only one waitress working the whole place during a lunch hour rush. The waitress was friendly and great, but our food experience was poor. Between when the first meal came out and the last was almost an hour, and the last thing that came out was the kids meal for the 2 year old. By that time we just packed up and left. She ended up just eating everyone’s fries. Took 2 hours for 3 burgers, 2 sandwiches, and a kids chicken strips. I appreciate things are slower in the country, but please prioritize the kids food.

8 months agoWe had the regular burger with jalapeños, all dressed with mayo and mustard. The 1/2 pound burgers came with some nice crispy crinkle cut fries. The iced tea was great. They also have a bakery with cakes, cookies and muffins. A great place in Centerville to eat. Excellent service and food!
